It was a pretty quiet release, but after many months we've release 1.2. It runs on top of XULRunner, the Firefox based runtime environment. We choose to use the XULRunner 1.8 tree instead of the 1.8.0 tree, so that we could make use of some of the new features like nsISAXMLReader.
New features in the product include it's ability to manage multiple insurance plans per record. Meaning we support splitting a doctors bill between multiple insurance comapies - something our competitors don't handle. Also, we reduced the footprint to only 6.9 megs from 8.04 megs. The download is free with registration.

Wow! At first blush this looks very cool! Do you or your team plan to do any sort of post mortem on this project that you can share with the rest of the development community. I for one believe that my team here at Expeditors would be very interested in reading the how and why behind your application.
Personally I'm going to try this out at home. I only wish I'd had something like this five years ago when we had our first child. To keep the Insurer and Providers in line I had to track everything using an Excel spreadsheet. Not the funnest thing to do but it worked.
But seriously, I think it would really benefit the community to get some insight into how you achieved such a cool application using XUL and XULRunner.
Hey, sorry never got a chance to reply to your comment... After almost a year and half after that release it's looking like revolution has discontinued work on it. I had transferred over to the main web site shortly after that post - full time. I had been working on it on and off since the beginning, but they decided to pull me off to focus on finishing up the 1.2 release. That said, I'm not sure a XULRunner solution makes much sense anymore, as I don't think it's improved much since our release and it does take a considerable amount of energy to get it up and running. That said, for a desktop product it might still be one of the best cross platform solutions...
Hey Todd - I know you wrote this ages ago but I've been trying to convert my trial copy of SimoHealth to the full version.
I really hope that Revolution isn't pulling the plug on the desktop version of this software because it is DEFINITELY a step in the right direction.
Either way, is there any way to get my trial copy working? I feel like I just wasted a month getting familiar with it & adding all my data only to have it trapped inside my MBP.
Thanks!
